Preface Your ColorScript 310/330 Printer Thank you for purchasing your QMS ColorScript 310/330 printer. Using either the ColorScript 310 or the The ColorScript 330, you can easily produce photo-realistic 24-bit, 300-dpi color prints from a variety of Macintosh, Windows3.1, and Windows95 applications. The ColorScript 310/330 is a dye sublimation thermal transfer printer. It operates by evaporating colored dye from a Mylar ribbon and transferring it onto special paper stock or transparency film. Multi-color prints pass the thermal print head once for each primary color in the print. iii

Preface Both ColorScript printers handle a wide variety of paper and transparency film sizes: u The ColorScript 310 prints to various paper or transparency film sizes, including A5, A4, A, and SuperA u The ColorScript 330 prints to various paper or transparency film sizes, including A4, A3, A, SuperA, B, and SuperB Other ColorScript 310/330 features include: u Memory expandable to 128 MB u An internal 540MB hard disk u Easy connection to additional, external hard disk drives u Connectivity using LocalTalk, Thinnet Ethernet, 10Base-T Ethernet, Parallel, and SCSI interfaces Intended Audience This User’s Guide is for pre-press and graphic design professionals who will use the ColorScript 310/330 printer to produce accurate color proofs of print jobs before going to press. This manual provides illustrated, step-by-step instruction on creating proofs with the ColorScript 310/330 printer from a variety of applications.
