Announcement of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People's Republic of China No.940 Announcement on Publishing the National Standard "Code for Design of Fossil Fired Power Plant" "Code for Design of Fossil Fired Power Plant" has been approved as a national standard with a serial number of GB 50660-2011 and shall be implemented from August 1, 2011. Articles 4.3.14, 15.4.2(9), 15.6.1(4), 16.3.9(1), 16.3.17, 16.4.1, 17.4.5, 19.1.3 and 21.4.2 are compulsory provisions and must be enforced strictly. Authorized by the Standard Rating Research Institute of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People's Republic of China, this code is published by China Planning Press. Foreword This code was formulated by China Power Engineering Consulting Group jointly with organizations concerned according to requirements of Document Jian Biao [2006] No.136 issued by former Ministry of Construction - "Notice on Printing and Publishing the Development and Revision Plan (2nd Batch) of Engineering Construction Standards in 2006". During the process of formulating this code, the code drafting group has normalized outline preparation & review and preparation of investigation report and draft for comments, solicited for opinions to the society and finalized this code through review. This code comprises 22 chapters and an appendix. Main technical contents cover: general provisions, term, requirements of power system on the fossil fired power plant, overall planning, unit selection, arrangement of main power area, coal handling system, boiler equipment and system, de-dusting and de-slagging systems, flue gas desulfurization system, flue gas denitration system, steam turbine equipment and system, water treatment system, information system, instrument and control, electrical equipment and system, hydraulic facilities and systems, auxiliary and ancillary facilities, buildings and structures, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, environmental protection, water and soil conservation, and firefighting, labor safety and occupational health. Provisions printed in bold type in this code are compulsory and must be enforced strictly. Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development is in charge of the administration of this standard and the explanation of the compulsory provisions; China Electricity Council is responsible for its routine management and China Power Engineering Consulting Group is responsible for the explanation of specific technical contents.
