Optional features This section describes the optional features available when you purchase your J3500. Mobile broadband with GPS You can choose to purchase a J3500 Tablet PC with the optional mobile broadband with GPS module. When installed, the module provides: • Worldwide mobile broadband support • Worldwide global positioning (GPS) support Motion Connection Manager is an application that you use to manage your mobile broadband and GPS network connections. For information on setting up mobile broadband, see “Set up mobile broadband with GPS” on page 11. The GPS receiver uses satellites to determine the current location, altitude, heading and horizontal velocity of the J3500. You can use it with your preferred mapping applications to find your current and desired locations. Security The J3500 provides a safe computing environment that enables strong security protection and serves as the foundation for complementary security technologies. The core security features include InsydeH20™ Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI) BIOS, a built-in fingerprint reader, a universal security lock, the Dashboard Security Center, a Smart Card-ready platform and a TPM (Trusted Platform Module). TPM is used by enterprise-level software applications to implement advanced security features such as: • User and device authentication • Full disk data encryption • Restricted network access System administrators typically configure TPM, which entails enabling TPM in the BIOS and configuring the accompanying security software provided by the TPM manufacturer, Infineon.
