Foreword Safety Information Laser Safety This printer is a page printer which operates by means of a laser. There is no possibility of danger from the laser, provided the printer is operated according to the instructions in this manual pro- vided. Since radiation emitted by the laser is completely confined within protective housing, the laser beam cannot escape from the machine during any phase of user operation. Internal Laser Radiation Maximum Radiation Power: 5.69 x 10-4(W) Wave Length: 770-810 (nm) This is a Class IIIb Laser Diode Assy. that has an invisible laser beam. The print head unit is NOT A FIELD SERVICE ITEM. Therefore, the print head unit should not be opened under any cir- cumstances. For all Countries Users WARNING: Use of controls, adjustments or performance of procedures other than those specified in this manual may result in hazardous radiation exposure. WARNING: This is a Class A product in case of installed Network Board. In a domestic environment this product may cause radio inter- ference in which case the user may be required to take adequate meas- ures. This is a semiconductor laser. The maximum power of the laser diode is 5.69 x 10-4W and the wavelength is 770-810 nm. For Denmark Users ADVARSEL: Usynlig laserstråling ved åbning, når sikkerhed- safbrydere er ude af funktion. How- ever, be sure the room where the machine is being used has ade- quate ventilation, especially if you are printing a high volume of materials, or if the machine is being used continuously over a long period. Foreword Welcome Thank you for selecting a Minolta PagePro 12 Printer! To assist you to easily set up and operate your printer and install the Printer Driver software, the Minolta PagePro 12 Printer comes with a comprehensive User Kit. The Minolta PagePro 12 User Kit consists of an Unpacking and Setting Up Instruction, a User’s Manual and a Software Package. The first chapters of the User’s Manual explain the functions of the printer and how it operates. Besides, they provide you with the troubleshooting tips as well as general precautions you should observe when operating the printer. The chapters for Windows 95, Windows 3.1 and Status Monitor 12 describe how to install and use the Minolta PagePro 12 Printer Utility. Before reading these chapters, we recommend that you read the previous chapters of the User’s Manual first, where it is explained how to set up and operate the printer. At the back you will find the Software Package including installa- tion disks of the Printer Utility and Font Manager.
