Doing so is both dangerous and prohibited by law. ・Using a cell phone in an aircraft is prohibited by law. Be sure to turn the cell phone off. × ●Radio waves from cell phones may interfere with medical electrical equipment ・Some people close to you in busy places such as crowded trains may be using a pacemaker. Turn the cell phone off in such places. ・Abide by the rules of hospitals and other medical institutions where it is forbidden to use or carry cell phones. OFF ●Be considerate of where you use the cell phone and how loudly you talk ・Do not make calls from cinemas, theaters, museums, libraries, and other similar places. Turn power off or turn on manner mode to prevent others around you from being inconvenienced by ring tones for incoming calls or mail. With this Smart Mode, you can use the cell phone in the simplified operations on the screen displaying the commonly used functions such as the phone, e-mail and camera. This manual instructs you how to use A5517T in the Smart Mode. Making and Answering Calls Your cell phone is packed with useful features such as a phone book, call history, and One-touch Calling. Smart Mode You can select the mode that allows you simplified operations with large font characters appearing on the display. Camera You can take photos and send them easily by e-mail. When you cannot answer calls, the cell phone can play an answering message (Japanese) and record memos. When the standby screen is displayed, hold down (side key 2) for at least one second to set or cancel it. Holding a cell phone, talking on a cell phone or looking at a cell phone display to send mail or perform some other operations while driving is against the law in Japan. The following mail filters are available for rejecting spam: ・未承諾広告フィルター (Unsolicited Advertisement Filter) ・アドレスフィルター (Address Filters)  - 指定拒否設定 (for not receiving specific mail)  - 指定受信設定 (for receiving specific mail only) Danger! If you receive a call from an unknown phone number: It may be an attempt to get you to return a call to a service with very high charges. We recommend that you avoid calling back unfamiliar numbers. The registered safety information can be referred from anywhere in Japan through EZweb or Internet. ●When a big scale disaster occurs, you can use au phone to register your safety information such as your condition or comments to the 災害用伝言板 (Disaster Message Board) created on the EZweb. ●After the registration of your safety information, you can notify by e-mail your family or acquaintances you have previously designated that you registered your safety information on the 災害用伝言板 (Disaster Message Board). ●You can refer to the safety information of the person which you want to get by entering the phone number of the person from EZweb or Internet.*  *When you refer to the safety information from other carriers' cellphone (excluding TU-KA), PHS or PC, you can refer to it from "http://dengon.ezweb.ne.jp/".
