1.1 Introduction Thank you for choosing the ECS KN1 Extreme motherboard. 1.2 Package Check List Motherboard User’s Guide Installation CD The KN1 Extreme is the next generation of high performance motherboard designed to support the AMD Athlon 64/Athlon 64 FX CPU. This motherboard has an ATX form factor that uses a 4-layer printed circuit board and measures 305 mm x 244 mm. The KN1 Extreme motherboard is based on the NVIDIAR CrushK8-04 Ultra (CK8-04 Ultra) media and communications processor (MCP) to set a new benchmark for the best desktop platform solution. CrushK8-04 is a single-chip, highly integrated, high performance HyperTransport peripheral controller, unmatched by any other single chip-device controller. This motherboard supports up to 4 GB of system memory with PC3200/2700/ 2100/1600 DDR DIMMs, high resolution graphics via an PCI Express x16 slot, Dual LAN, USB 2.0, 6-channel audio, Digital S/PDIF out, and SATA support with RAID function.
