1 General Information
1.1 Description
The QCA6410 is the latest addition to the Powerline Communications (PLC) portfolio of ICs from
Qualcomm Atheros. It is fully compliant with the HomePlug-AV (HPAV) specification. The
QCA6410 has been designed to meet specific low cost requirements for HomePlug-AV
applications. The QCA6410 is interoperable with all HPAV networks and HomePlug Green PHY
(HPGP) networks. The QCA6410 is a System-on-a-Chip (SoC) and offers lower power
consumption, lower product complexity and lower BOM costs than previous ICs.
The QCA6410 is fully interoperable with HomePlug-AV and IEEE 1901 compliant products. The
IC also supports Power Save Mode, which enables the IC to enter and exit a low power state on a
scheduled or activity basis to maintain network synchronization.
An integrated switching power supply provides the 1.2 V core voltage. No external active
components are required. Only inductors and capacitors are required for the power supply bypass
circuit.
