Milestone Semiconductor Inc.  GENERAL DESCRIPTION MST9611 is an Over-Voltage-Protection (OVP) and Over-Current-Protection (OCP) device. It can disconnect IN to OUT to protect load in case wrong input operating conditions are detected. The system is positive overvoltage protected up to 36V. The internal overvoltage thresholds (OVLO) is 6.1V and internal overcurrent thresholds (OCP) MST9611 also has internal over temperature protect(OTP) function and it can monitor chip temperature to protect the device. The device is packaged in advanced is 2.7A. Over Voltage and Over Current Protection IC  FEATURES Typical RON: 100mΩ NMOS @5V/1A Maximum Output Current: 2.5A. The internal overvoltage thresholds (OVLO) is 6.1V and internal overcurrent thresholds (OCP) is 2.7A. The internal FET turns off when the junction temperature exceeds +155ºC (TYP.). Input Capacitor Over Voltage and Over Current Protection IC To limit the voltage drop on the input supply caused by transient inrush current when the switch turns on into a discharged load capacitor or short-circuit, a capacitor 1μF or lager must be placed between the VIN and GND pins. Output Capacitor A 1μF or lager capacitor should be placed between the OUT and GND pins.  ABSOLUTE MAXIMUM RATINGS Stresses exceeding the absolute maximum ratings may damage the device. The device may not function or be operable above the recommended operating conditions and stressing the parts to these levels is not recommended. In addition, extended exposure to stresses above the recommended operating conditions may affect device reliability. The absolute maximum ratings are stress ratings only.
