Cellphone Etiquette Please carry your Manners around with you Cellphones release weak electronic signals when it is power on, even if no calls are being made. Please remember to care about the others around you, and enjoy a safe use of your handset. It is forbidden to use your cellphone in certain places. ●It is against the law to use your cellphone ● while driving as this is very dangerous. It is against the law to use cellphones onboard aircrafts. Please keep your cellphone power off. Please pay attention to where you use your cellphone and how loudly you speak. ●In cinemas, theatres, museums and libraries, not only refrain from making calls, but also keep your cellphone power off or set to manner mode to avoid disturbing others with ringtones. ●In towns, please use your cellphone where it will not obstruct traffic and pedestrians. ●When making calls onboad trains and hotel lobbies, move to a place here you will not disturb others around you. ●Keep your voice low when talking on the cellphone. ●When taking pictures using a built-in camera on your cellphone, only do so when you have a permission of the person. Electronic signals from cellphones may affect electronic medical devices. ●In a crowded place like inside a packed train, there may be somebody wearing a heart pace-maker near you, please keep your cellphone power off. ●In places where use of cellphones are prohibited such as in hospitals, please follow rules. 1
Smart Mode How to Use Smart Mode A1407PT is pre-set at Smart Mode when purchased. Smart Mode is a mode where only frequently-used functions such as call, mail, and camera are shown on the menu screen. There are other designs that help an easy use of the cellphone such as large-print display. This booklet explains how to use Smart Mode. Oh, it is so easy,I love it! [Smart Mode screen] Note ●How to Turn the Smart Mode Off When the Smart Mode is off, the phone is in the“normal mode”. To turn the Smart Mode off, see“Before setting the display language : Set the phone to the normal mode”(p. 22). 2
One Touch Keys How to Use One Touch Keys A1407PT has One Touch keys will connect you to pre-registered numbers. ( 、 、 ) . Pushing One Touch Keys It is Forbidden to Use Your Cellphone in Certain Places Push and hold down One Touch Keys for more than 1 second will connect you to pre-registered numbers. If you would like to check the registered number before calling, please follow the below steps. ① Press one touch keys ② Confirm the number ③ Press (call) How to Register Numbers on One Touch Keys Please refer to “Registering a Pair Partner to a One Touch Keys” on page 44. 3

You can send E-Mails to other cellphones and PCs. You can download ‘Chaku-Uta ’ and wall papers. ® Chaku-Uta Page 44 Page 46 Page 59 Pair Function Camera You can make a call to or send an E-Mail to numbers you register with a simple function. You can take photographs and record movies, and send them along with E-Mails. Safety Buzzer You can make a loud noise as Safety Buzzer when you are in a dangerous situation. Manner Mode/Easy Voice Memo Manner Mode Manner mode sets your cellphone so that it will not release sound such as ringtones in order to prevent disturbing others. On standby screen Press To release Press down for more than 1second. down again for more than 1second. Easy Voice Memo When you cannot take your calls, it will play an auto reply and prompts the caller to leave messages. On standby screen Press To release Press own again for more than 1 second. down for more than 1second. Check Your Power Supply, Electronic Signal and Electronic Charger! Usually keep your cellphone powered on Page 16 To make and receive calls, leave your power on. Press down for more than 1 second. Power is on! You cannot talk unless there is electronic signal Page 16 There may be areas where you cannot receive signal very well even within the service area. 「 shows the status of signal received. 」 Pay attention to the battery level Page 16 Your cellphone may not function well if the battery level is low. 「 shows the battery level of your cellphone. 」 5
Do not use your cellphone while driving It is against the law to hold a mobile phone in your hand while driving to make and receive calls or to read emails, and you can be punished for breaking this law. Keeping your eyes fixed on the screen will be an object of penalty. (Amended road and transportation law, put in effect on 1 November 2004) × Reading mail or looking at the display. × Holding a cellphone in your hand to talk. Power your cellphone off or use drive mode when driving Drive Mode ● When the cellphone is set to drive mode, it will not release any ringtones when an incoming call or message is received. When there is an incoming message it will play an Easy Voice Memo and informs the caller that you are driving and cannot take your call. It will then give the caller an option to leave a message. Note ●Drive mode cannot be accessed via Smart Mode. Please set your cellphone to normal mode first before setting it to drive mode. 6
